Today, people are singing praises. 3 months ago, everyone was abusing me KL Rahul addresses online abuse after SA ton

KL Rahul talked openly about the harsh criticism and online abuse he suffered while recovering from an IPL injury.

For KL Rahul, 2023 brought several difficulties. His problems started when he was left off of the T20I team at the beginning of the season due to his uneven 2022 T20 World Cup performance. Midway through the domestic Border-Gavaskar trophy, he also lost his spot in the starting XI due to a run of poor performances. After Rishabh Pant’s tragic car accident, Rahul took on the role of wicketkeeper in ODIs; however, his preparations for the 2023 World Cup were derailed by a hamstring injury he sustained during the 2023 IPL. He was unable to play for India in the World Test Championship final due to this injury, and the team lost to Australia by a significant 209 runs.

Rahul’s incredible wicketkeeping abilities were on display when he returned to the team for the Asia Cup 2023. But the focus grew more on his batting display in the World Cup final. He amassed 66 runs, but his sluggish 107-ball innings with just one boundary earned him harsh criticism from both experts and fans. India lost the match by six wickets in the end, and Rahul was the target of a lot of criticism. Some angry fans even attacked him online.

However, the 31-year-old is currently on the rise after helping the Indian ODI team defeat South Africa 2-1 earlier this month. While speaking to the media on Wednesday in Centurion, Rahul celebrated his eighth century in Test cricket and looked back on a difficult year filled with both opportunities and disappointments.

Rahul pointed out that it’s critical to stick to one’s routine and set boundaries when it comes to using social media. When he was recovering from an injury, he claimed that even though it was difficult to handle outside pressure, he “worked on myself.

If you have an appearance of where to draw the line, you can perform or maintain a better frame of mind. Nobody is so amazing that they can ignore everything that has been said about them and the criticism they receive. Every individual is impacted by it. And I’m sure that anyone who claims that has no bearing on them is lying. However, everyone must find their path. And as for me, I worked on myself during my lengthy absence from the game due to injury. I made an effort to return to who I am and practised not changing who I am in response to these things.

However, just like anything else in life or cricket, there are methods to improve it. When you have an open mind, some people can assist you. I spent my time doing that when I wasn’t playing the game. After working on myself, I focused on maintaining my composure and taking care of my mental health. and internal events as well, Rahul remarked.
