Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Ayodhya’s new airport today. The visit comes ahead of the Ram Temple’s much-anticipated consecration event on January 22.

1. The Prime Minister, who is set to spend four hours in Ayodhya, will also launch or lay the groundwork for 46 infrastructure improvements worth Rs 15,700 crore. The city has been decorated with flowers, and posters welcoming the PM have been placed throughout the city. A tight security circle has been established.

3. The Ayodhya airport, which will be known as the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham, will cost more than 1,450 crore to build. The airport terminal would be 6,500 square meters in size and will be able to serve around 10 lakh people per year. Several portions of the airport are adorned with colorful murals depicting various stages of the Ramayana and Lord Ram’s life.
4. Airlines will provide flights to and from key cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad to accommodate the lakhs of pilgrims expected to visit the Ram Temple every day following the consecration event. Flight operations will resume on January 6.
5. The railway station, to be known as the Ayodhya Dham junction, has been restored at a cost of 240 crore. The three-story construction is a green building with lifts, escalators, waiting halls, cloakrooms, and food plazas.

The station’s entrance is traditional in design, with various elements influenced by Lord Ram’s life and the Ram Temple. “A structure at the top of the station resembles a royal’mukut’ (crown), while a bow is depicted on a wall just beneath it.” “This is to symbolize Ayodhya’s association with Lord Ram,” an official told PTI.
7. In addition, Prime Minister Modi will launch six Vande Bharat and two new Amrit Bharat trains. The Amrit Bharat trains, a new category of superfast passenger trains, use ‘push-pull’ technology, which improves both speed and passenger comfort. They also have more comfortable seats, larger luggage racks, LED lighting, CCTV cameras, and a public information system.
8. Around 10.30 a.m., the Prime Minister will open the railway station and flag off the trains. In addition, he will devote several more railway projects to the nation. On Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath toured the Ayodhya railway station and airport, as well as taking a photo on the location where the Prime Minister will address the public program.
